# From illustrations to hand-cut stickers

FridaHag practical lesson companion. English. 22 September 2026.

## What the collection contains

Twelve individual PNG designs: six angels (three girls and three boys), three Halloween houses, a pumpkin, a black cat and a lantern. The artwork was adapted with image-generation edits from approved FridaHag illustrations; it is not an exact pixel-preserving extraction.

There are four printable pages in each paper edition, A4 and US Letter. Each edition has 32 sticker placements: 17 angels and 15 Halloween stickers. Sizes are approximate longest visible edge including the white border. Most angels are offered at 3, 5 and 7 cm. The balloon angel and detailed houses use 5 and 7 cm. The three separate Halloween objects use all three sizes.

Use the paper edition matching your printer. These are for blank full-sheet adhesive paper and hand cutting. They are not aligned to pre-cut labels and contain no cutting-machine registration marks. Print one plain-paper test first. A small scale difference is acceptable for this decorative use if the sheet fits and the result looks good.

## Setup and access check

Use the ChatGPT desktop app with Work or Codex and access to the project files. For direct control of Inkscape, Computer Use must be available and enabled for the application in your setup. Native application control was unavailable in this production session, so the demonstrated layouts were prepared as files; no Inkscape screen recording is claimed. You can open the supplied SVG layouts in Inkscape and rearrange their embedded pictures.

Download free Inkscape from its official website: https://inkscape.org/release/

Copy this first:

> I want to make hand-cut stickers from the attached artwork. First identify the files you can read. Check whether you can actually see and operate my installed Inkscape through Computer Use. Do not claim access from installation alone. If application control is unavailable, tell me and prepare an editable SVG layout and a PDF as files instead. Preserve my original artwork and save new versions separately. Do not publish anything.

Expected result: a truthful access report and a small test layout that you can open. Stop and resolve missing access or missing files before relying on a claimed export.

## 1. Choose a practical silhouette

Attach one source illustration. This prompt describes the angel example:

> Make one sticker adaptation using this image as the subject, style and colour reference. Keep the entire angel, wings, hair, hands and flower pot. Remove the surrounding paper background. Keep every extremity inside the frame. Give the design a smooth white border and one connected outer silhouette suitable for hand cutting. Keep pale wings and clothing intact. Tell me whether your method preserves original pixels or generates a new adaptation. Save a new individual PNG and preserve the source.

Compare the output against the source before producing a batch. Check faces, fingers, toes, wings, stems and props. For an exact reproduction, request a masking workflow instead of a generative edit.

## 2. Isolate a house or object

Attach the original Halloween scene:

> Make a single sticker adaptation of the central cottage. Keep the complete roof, chimney, walls, windows, door and doorstep. Remove the sky, trees, distant scenery and unrelated foreground objects. Preserve the reference's carved-ink style and colours. Use one connected white border with a manageable cutting outline. Save a separate PNG. Describe any details that were recreated rather than exactly extracted.

For a separate object, replace the subject instruction with "only the seated black cat with its complete tail", "only the jack-o-lantern including its stem", or "only the complete porch lantern". Do one object per file. Small source objects may need an adaptation; do not claim the enlarged result reveals original detail.

## 3. Check transparency and fragile parts

> Inspect the saved PNG itself. Confirm an alpha channel and genuinely transparent exterior pixels. Show the unchanged file over both light and dark backgrounds. Check for leftover paper, grey fringes, detached specks, missing pale artwork and cropped tips. Distinguish fully opaque pixels from near-opaque pixels in the report. Do not treat a drawn checkerboard as evidence of transparency.

Our saved PNGs have real alpha. Some artwork pixels are near-opaque rather than mathematically 255 alpha; the numerical record is in Asset-QA.json. Light/dark proofs are included for inspection. Do not describe these as perfectly opaque technical masks without checking that record.

> Check whether the balloon, string, plant pot and water drops remain part of a single practical sticker. Add or retain enough white connection around delicate parts for hand cutting. Keep fine illustrated details inside the outline. Do not force the balloon angel into the smallest size if its string becomes fragile.

The three-centimetre balloon version was omitted from the sheets for this reason. Cutting comfort remains a physical test.

## 4. Compare sizes without stretching

> Prepare approximately 3, 5 and 7 cm versions measured along the longest visible edge including the white border. Keep proportions locked. Measure the visible artwork rather than empty transparent padding. Use 5 and 7 cm for the houses and balloon angel. Keep the PNG source unchanged when possible; change its placement scale in the layout. Show a comparison proof.

The production layout uses the 50%-alpha boundary for the visible size. This avoids letting almost invisible exterior pixels control placement. It does not remove those pixels or change the PNG.

## 5. Arrange the printing sheets

> Make separate A4 and US Letter layouts with comfortable cutting gaps and outer margins. Keep the visible stickers at least 9 mm from the page sides and away from headings and footers. Check every row for overlaps and clipping. Save an editable SVG for each page, embedding the PNGs so that the file does not depend on external image links. Also export a PDF for each paper edition. Do not add machine-cut registration marks or claim pre-cut-label compatibility.

The supplied SVG files contain embedded raster pictures. They are editable page layouts, not vectorized illustrations. Open a copy in Inkscape, select a picture to move it, preserve its proportions when resizing, and keep the SVG master when exporting a PDF.

## 6. Verify the actual files

> Reopen the exported PDFs. Confirm four pages per paper edition and the correct page dimensions. Render every page and inspect the final row, margins, spacing and image edges. Confirm the embedded-image SVGs open without missing image links. Report which digital checks passed and which physical tests remain unperformed. Do not substitute an application preview for checking the export.

## 7. Print and cut

Choose Actual size / 100% if you want the approximate sizes shown. Fit-to-page may shrink the sheet. Test on ordinary paper, then use adhesive paper suitable for your printer. Cut a rough piece around one sticker before following its white outer border. Leave internal white areas intact instead of cutting tiny holes. Compare one small and one large sticker before cutting the full sheet.

No physical printing, cutting, adhesive-durability or water-resistance test is claimed for these files. Adjust for your own printer and paper. Avoid calling the result waterproof without appropriate testing.

## Production and references

This was the producing assistant's local file-based rehearsal, not an independent fresh-session test. Teaching visuals are prepared illustrations and layouts. Narration uses Frida Hag's authorised voice clone; it is not a live recording of Frida speaking.
